From the moment we met Jess and Helen we just clicked, they have such fun and friendly personalities, we just knew that we were going to love capturing their big day.
The Wellbeing Farm was the perfect choice for these two lovely ladies. Fun and Quirky with family and friends to match. The Dads had an amazing bromance; the mums just didn't stop giggling.
Let me walk you through the day.
Everything was held up at the Farm. The girls used the bridal house onsite to get ready. When Anne and I arrived the makeup and hair was already in full flow with the Champagne just about to follow. You'd think that opening a bottle of bubbly was the most natural thing in the world to a fun family group but not today. I actually thought they were going to shake the bottles so much by the uncontrolled laughter that the corks would fly out on their own.
They had decided, and quite rightly so, that shoes with any kind of heel would be a bad idea on a farm in the middle of January (and also Jess would tell you she's not really a heels kind of girl) and as the weather proceeded to be a little more interesting outside, that decision would prove to be be a wise one.
I photographed the dress, suit and wedding detail and then went off the main barn to see what how they'd dressed it and wow! it looked amazing. So many personal little touches from the llama table cards to the ladder with family photos on. They had also decided to leave the photography to us during the ceremony and asked the guests not to take photos and just enjoy the experience .
The guests began to gather in the lower barn bar, chatting and catching up with friends and family they hadn't seen in a while, all the while, the girls were getting into their dresses and suits just the other side of the wall.
Making a swift trip under umbrellas across to the main barn, everyone gathered to await the arrival of the girls. Both Dads had the honour of walking their respective ladies down the aisle with Helen in her flowing dress going first. Jess came soon after but Helen couldn't contain her emotion which was a beautiful sight to see.
Jess of course brought the comedy back into the service almost instantly when she decide that the height difference between them was simply not even enough and broke out TWO yellow pages to stand on to make up the difference in height.... So funny even the registar laughed.... After an emotional service we continued on to do the confetti walk inside the barn a few meet and greets, then family photos. The barn is big enough to allow the event team to set the room up for the wedding breakfast and still have enough room to shoot formal groups of ten or more without interruption.
Then onto mixing in the lower bar, to be entertained by Josh from Hit the Dance floor, candid photos and a few wet and windy couples shots.
The wedding breakfast and speeches were everything you expect from this wedding party with so much laughter and emotion you just couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. The food was amazing with Helen and Jess opting for food stations. Either Paella, Curry or Pie and Mash. All the while being entertained once again by Josh on guitar. Not to mention wedding bingo.
Desserts from the help yourself cake cart went down a real treat as well.
Then onto the night party.
The rest of Hit the Dance floor arrived and set up whilst we took the girls out for a wet and windy nighttime portraits which were very much a fun affair.
First dance, cake cut, party. When we left you just knew the night had only just begun.
